Good morning. This morning I want to encourage any of you who are suffering in any way, especially if it strikes at the very core of who you are. I pray that you will join me in standing firm in our LORD and trusting that our suffering will produce perseverance, character and hope (Romans 5:3-5). I lift up our hearts that are heavy, burdened and broken, and give them to you, LORD. "A broken and contrite heart, O GOD, you will not despise" (Psalm 51:17). Let us walk out our suffering in the right manner, and continue, through our suffering, to be a beacon of light to the world.
"Teach us to number our days aright,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Relent, O LORD! How long will it be?
Have compassion on your servants.
Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
for as many years as we have seen trouble.
May your deeds be shown to your servants,
your splendor to their children."
Psalm 90:12-16
