Thursday's Morning Glory

Good Thursday morning to you! We talked yesterday about how our LORD remains constant and never-changing, in an ever-changing world. What a comfort to know that He is always there. Today I want to share all of Psalm 103, as it breaks down the love our LORD has for us. I find it incredibly inspirational as I begin this day that He has given me. Praise be to God for all that He has done!

"1 Praise the LORD, O my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits-
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6 The LORD works righteousness
and justice for all the oppressed.
7 He made known his ways to Moses,
his deeds to the people of Israel:
8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
9 He will not always accuse,
nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him;
14 for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust.
15 As for man, his days are like grass,
he flourishes like a flower of the field;
16 the wind blows over it and it is gone,
and its place remembers it no more.
17 But from everlasting to everlasting
the LORD's love is with those who fear him,
and his righteousness with their children's children-
18 with those who keep his covenant
and remember to obey his precepts.
19 The LORD has established his throne in heaven,
and his kingdom rules over all.
20 Praise the LORD, you his angels,
you mighty ones who do his bidding,
who obey his word.
21 Praise the LORD, all his heavenly hosts,
you his servants who do his will.
22 Praise the LORD, all his works
everywhere in his dominion.
Praise the LORD, O my soul."
Psalm 103

Wednesday's Morning Glory

Good Morning to you! Did you think about my question yesterday? Did you, as I did, realize that there is room for change and improvement? I have to constantly remind myself that life is full of changes, whether or not I like them or ask for them. Life requires change, it cannot be stagnate. We know that there are physical, emotional, relational, and situational changes that happen all throughout our lives. Isn't reassuring to know that there will always be a constant, NEVER changing force guiding us? Our LORD allows all of these changes in our lives and He never lets us fall. His love is never failing, His promises are always kept and His grace is always given. If we continue to seek Him and give Him the glory, even in the most difficult of changes, we will see the amazing blessing on the other side of it.
"In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.
Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded.
But you remain the same,
and your years will never end.
The children of your servants will live in your presence;
their descendants will be established before you."
Psalm 102:25-28

Tuesday's Morning Glory

Good Morning! My question to you this morning is, I hope, thought provoking. How do you want to live? It seems like an easy question on the outside, but let yourself look a little deeper. In processing through the recent deaths in my family and the trials I have been enduring, I have really become aware of how I want to live. I want to live for my LORD and Savior. I want to have Him be my guide in fulfilling the life and purpose that He has set for me. I want to live humbly and compassionately. I want others to see Christ in me. I want, as David did, to live blamelessly. Not being perfect, because no one is, but blameless in the eyes of my LORD. Being blameless in loving God and accepting His forgiveness. I cannot do this, however, without His divine intervention and empowerment. So, I seek Him and do the best I can, in this human flesh that He has created.
"I will sing of your love and justice;
to you, O LORD, I will sing praise.
I will be careful to lead a blameless life--
when will you come to me?
I will walk in my house with a blameless heart."
Psalm 101:1-2

Father God, I ask for your continued guidance and provision. I thank you for this life that you have given me. I thank you for fixing what I mess up and erasing it from your memory. I thank you for the forgiveness that You have given me through the death of your Son and the promise of eternal fellowship with You. I love you LORD, and I lift my voice to worship you, oh my soul rejoice. Take joy my King in what You hear. May it be a sweet, sweet sound in Your ear. Amen.

Monday's Morning Glory

Good Morning to you! Today marks the 100th Morning Glory, and I can't believe its gone so quickly. It feels like I just started this ministry. God is good! He is also gracious and faithful. Sunday morning He took my Aunt Nancy home to be with Him. She suffered from MS for thirty years, give or take. She was wheelchair bound for the last half of it and unable to do the things she loved to do. Now, she is whole and perfect. She is able to walk, jump and run, all in the presence of the Almighty! Through her suffering she persevered and kept her eyes on Jesus. She was and will remain to be an inspiration! Even through my sadness, I thank and praise Him, for He is good.
"Shout for joy to the LORD,
all the earth.
Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations."
Psalm 100

Friday's Morning Glory

Good Morning to you this Friday! In these days of busyness and trials, how often does doubt enter your mind? Doubt about your purpose, your job, your finances and yes, even about your faith. The enemy would love for all of us to live in doubt because it makes us weak, susceptible to his attacks. How can we guard ourselves and fight off the doubt? We need to stay focused and securely grounded in the LORD, and rebuke the enemy at each turn. Ask for His help. Great is the LORD, and nothing is out of His control!
"The LORD reigns, let the nations tremble;
he sits enthroned between the cherubim,
let the earth shake.
Great is the LORD in Zion;
he is exalted over all the nations.
Let them praise your great and awesome name--
he is holy.
The King is mighty, he loves justice--
you have established equity;
in Jacob you have done what is just and right.
Exalt the LORD our God
and worship at his footstool;
he is holy."
Psalm 99:1-5

Thursday's Frozen Glory

Good Afternoon! I feel like the Postal Service...no matter what the weather or conditions I will try my hardest to get the message out! So, with the help of a generator and despite the 6 inches of snow, here we go! Let us rejoice in the things that HE has done for us, even if we don't understand them. Let us give Him thanks, even in advance, for what He is accomplishing in and through us!
"Sing the LORD a new song,
for he has done marvelous things;
his right hand and his holy arm
have worked salvation for him."
Psalm 98:1

If you get the chance today, read all of Psalm 98, its a good one!

Wednesday's Afternoon Glory

Good Afternoon! I have a question for you, one that I hope will get you thinking.
How seriously do you take your relationship with the LORD? I always thought I took mine pretty seriously, and this recent "refining" process that He has had me in has made me think otherwise. I thought I knew a lot on an intellectual level about my LORD and my relationship with Him. I am now beginning to feel it in my soul. I physically feel the work being done in me and am now, more than ever, able to see my sin up on that Cross. However, letting mindsets and habits go is an incredibly hard thing to work through. I know though, that it isn't for naught. There is a benefit and a blessing that comes from all of this and I can't wait to share it with you!
"For you, O LORD, are the Most High over all the earth;
you are exalted far above all gods.
Let those who love the LORD hate evil,
for he guards the lives of his faithful ones
and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
Light is shed upon the righteous
and joy on the upright in heart.
Rejoice in the LORD, you who are righteous,
and praise his holy name."Psalm 97:9-12

Tuesday's Morning Glory

Good Morning to you! I'm sure that I am not alone when I say that there are certain sounds in nature that just bring joy to my soul. The sound of throngs of happy birds at the beginning of Spring, waves crashing on the seashore, the babbling of a brook, the breeze through the tall Pines and rain falling through the trees. It is amazing how nature rejoices in its Maker, and most of the time we don't even hear it. I can only imagine the beautiful and perfect chorus the earth will sing when our LORD comes back!
Psalm 96
"Sing to the LORD a new song;
sing to the LORD, all the earth.
Sing to the LORD, praise his name;
proclaim his salvation day after day."
verses: 1-2
"Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
let the sea resound, and all that is in it;
let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them.
Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy;
they will sing before the LORD, for he comes,
he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
and the peoples in his truth."
verses: 11-13

Monday's Morning Glory

Good Monday Morning to you! I want to start out this week with a Psalm of praise, as there is so much to be grateful for. He IS faithful, and He keeps showing me everyday. I am beginning to realize that His love for me is far greater than even the love I have for my own children. I am still having a hard time comprehending it, though. Thank you, LORD!
"Come let us sing for joy to the LORD;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol
him with music and song.
For the LORD is the great God,
the great King above all gods.
In his hands are the depths of the earth,
and the mountain peaks belong to him.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.
Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the LORD our Maker;
for he is our God and we are the
people of his pasture, the flock under his care."
Psalm 95:1-7

Friday's Morning Glory

Good morning! It isn't always easy to give up our flesh and independence and leave it all to the LORD. We want to place our hands all over "our" lives and do it ourselves...but this only leads to more frustration and anxiety. Can you trust Him enough to provide for you, completely and wholly? It isn't easy, but when we do, the burden is then lifted off of us and a peace can take its place.
"When I said, 'My foot is slipping,'
your love, O LORD, supported me.
When anxiety was great within me, your consolation
brought joy to my soul."
Psalm 94:18-19

Thursday's Morning Glory

Good morning to all. How awesome is it to know that we are not alone? How awesome to know that, even though we may not see it, the whole of nature praises its Creator! If we really take in what the LORD has made and done, how can we not praise Him? Take a moment to lift Him up today, for anything, for all things!
"The LORD reigns, he is robed in majesty;
the LORD is robed in majesty and is armed with strength.
The world is firmly established;
it cannot be moved.
Your throne was established long ago;
you are from all eternity.
The seas have lifted up, O LORD,
the seas have lifted up their voice;
the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.
Mightier than the thunder of the great waters,
mightier than the breakers of the sea--
the LORD on high is mighty.
Your statutes stand firm;
holiness adorns your house for endless days, O LORD."
Psalm 93

Wednesday's Morning Glory

Good day to you. Have you ever wondered in the face of a trial "what is all this for?" On a good day, we know in our hearts that God is working in us and through us. That our trial is for our growth and His glory. On a not-so-good day we just want to throw up our hands and quit, because none of it makes any sense to us and we just want the pain and the trial to be over. He does promise us that the outcome will far outweigh the process, and that is what we need to be reminded of. I need to be reminded A LOT! I need to keep my feet firm in the Truth and trust Him.
"The righteous will flourish like a palm tree,
they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;
planted in the house of the LORD,
they will flourish in the courts of our God.
They will still bear fruit in old age,
they will stay fresh and green,
proclaiming, 'The LORD is upright;
he is my Rock, and there is no wickedness in him."
Psalm 92:12-15

Tuesday's Morning Glory

Good Morning! I have the song "O How He Loves You and Me" floating around in my head as I start this day...not a bad way to start, I suppose. He is faithfully reminding me of His unfailing love and protection. It seems as though every scripture I come across in the last two or three days has pointed me to His promise to love me, lift me up and fix my broken spirit. Hallelujah! His Word really is living and breathing, from moment to moment. I have always intellectually known this, but how awesome it is to fully experience it working in my life and circumstances. What blessings are found in Him!
"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD,
'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'
Surely He will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart."
Psalm 91:1-4

Monday's Morning Glory

Good morning. This morning I want to encourage any of you who are suffering in any way, especially if it strikes at the very core of who you are. I pray that you will join me in standing firm in our LORD and trusting that our suffering will produce perseverance, character and hope (Romans 5:3-5). I lift up our hearts that are heavy, burdened and broken, and give them to you, LORD. "A broken and contrite heart, O GOD, you will not despise" (Psalm 51:17). Let us walk out our suffering in the right manner, and continue, through our suffering, to be a beacon of light to the world.
"Teach us to number our days aright,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Relent, O LORD! How long will it be?
Have compassion on your servants.
Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
for as many years as we have seen trouble.
May your deeds be shown to your servants,
your splendor to their children."
Psalm 90:12-16

Friday's Morning Glory

Good Friday morning to you! As this week comes to a close, I'm glad that I can honestly end it on a good note. The LORD has really been doing a work in my heart, and as hurtful and difficult as it is, I can't help but thank Him and praise Him for what He is accomplishing. He is surely faithful!
"The heavens praise your wonders, O LORD,
your faithfulness too, in the assembly of the holy ones.
For who in the skies above can compare with the LORD?
Who is like the LORD among the heavenly beings?
In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared;
he is more awesome than all who surround him.
O LORD God Almighty, who is like you?
You are mighty, O LORD, and your
faithfulness surrounds you."
Psalm 89:5-8

Thursday's Morning Glory

Good Morning! How wonderful it is for me to share this ministry with you. Not only is the LORD keeping me in the Word everyday, He is keeping me accountable to you. He is molding me and refining me, and I get to share it with you. (in all its not-so-beautiful glory) He is constantly reminding me of my humanness and my dependence upon Him. Would I have chosen to share my "dark side" with the world before now? NO! I would have rather dealt with it quietly and tried to keep a squeaky clean image, but He had different plans for me. Plans to share my struggle with judgment and self-righteousness. Plans to shed light on pain that I wish would just go away. Plans to rid me of a need for acceptance from the world, to focus on my audience of One. To Him who is faithful in love and forgiveness, I thank you! Continue to strip me of the world, Father. Fill me with your Spirit and make me apart from this world.
"O LORD, the God who saves me,
day and night I cry out before you.
May my prayer come before you;
turn your ear to my cry."
Psalm 88:1-2

Wednesday's Morning Glory

Good afternoon to you! Yes, I'm a little behind, again. I needed to really connect with the LORD on an extremely sensitive issue this morning and the process took me most of the morning. I appreciate the fact that I have a LORD that will walk me by the hand through some hard and hurtful truths, and bring me out on the side of grace, not anger. The benefits of being born in Him are astounding and awesome! Indeed, He is the source of life and blessing.
"Indeed, of Zion it will be said,
'This one and that one were born in her,
and the Most High himself will establish her.'
The LORD will write in the register of the peoples:
'This one was born in Zion.'
As they make music they will sing,
'All my fountains are in you."
Psalm 87:5-7

Tuesday's Morning Glory

Good morning! Today I am led to focus on the "heart," the center of the human soul or spirit. There are many references to the heart in Scripture, 743 actually (give or take).
The heart is a very important part of our relationship with the LORD, the biggest part. If the heart is hardened, the Spirit is hard at work to soften it. If the heart is broken, the Spirit can mend it. If the heart is full of joy, the Spirit will easily be poured out. Do you see where I'm going with this? Not only is the heart the source of physical life, it is the source of our spiritual life as well. Even when we are under attack, or feeling alone, the LORD is continually working on our hearts. His wants us to have "an undivided" heart. A heart that is pure and unselfish, not corrupted. He knows we cannot accomplish this without His help, and He wants us to ask Him for the help. We cannot do it alone. Our hearts were made to be in constant communion with Him, that is how He made us. And with one, cunning attack by the enemy that constant fellowship with Him was severed. So now, it is our choice to take our hearts to Him, willingly. Ask Him to help you examine your heart, you might be surprised at what you find.
"Teach me your way, O LORD,
and I will walk in your truth;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name.
I will praise you, O LORD my God,
with all my heart;
I will glorify your name forever."
Psalm 86:11-12

Monday's Morning Glory

Good Monday morning to you! I want to share that I have been under a pretty intense attack from the enemy in the last week or so. The basis of the attack is to discourage me from moving closer to the LORD, as is his goal in all of his attacks. The enemy wants me to believe that I'm not actually hearing the LORD and that the work I am doing in Him and for Him is in vain. I seem to rebuke the enemy at every turn throughout the day. I learned of others yesterday who are feeling the same attack of discouragement. It reminds me that the further we get in our walk, the larger the target we become. With each attack and each rebuke, I need to remember to just run to Him. All of this is for His glory, even the enemy knows that. So, for those of us who are feeling the attacks, Psalm 85 is for you.
"Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?
Show us your unfailing love, O LORD,
and grant us your salvation.
I will listen to what God the LORD will say;
he promises peace to his people, his saints--
but let them not return to folly.
Surely his salvation is near those who fear him,
that his glory may dwell in our land.
Love and faithfulness meet together;
righteousness and peace kiss each other.
Faithfulness springs forth from the earth,
and righteousness looks down from heaven.
The LORD will indeed give what is good,
and our land will yield its harvest.
Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps."
Psalm 85:6-13

Friday's Morning Glory

Good Morning to you this stormy Friday! I don't know what it is like where you are, but it is incredible wet and windy here...which is why this is going out a little late. As we finish off this week, I want to share all of Psalm 84. He knows us all, He takes care of us all and we are privileged to be loved by Him. Praise Him!!

"1 How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD Almighty!
2 My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. 3 Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young— a place near your altar, O LORD Almighty, my King and my God. 4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you. 5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage. 6 As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. [b]
7 They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.
8 Hear my prayer, O LORD God Almighty; listen to me, O God of Jacob.
9 Look upon our shield, [c] O God; look with favor on your anointed one.
10 Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.
12 O LORD Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you."
Psalm 84

Thursday's Morning Glory

Good Morning to you! Do you remember the words to the song "They'll know we are Christians by our love?" If you don't, they are just that: They will know we are Christians by our love. What kind of love are you showing in your everyday life? Do people see someone kind and caring, or someone harried and stressed out? For me, it kind of depends on the day. If we are walking examples of Christ, then we need to be aware of what "vibe" we putting out there. I don't expect anyone to put on a happy face in the midst of trial, because it starts with taking those trials to God first. If we truly give everything in our lives to Him, then His love and peace will start to shine through us. Then we can't help but walk in His light, and others will see it and wonder.
"Let them know that you, whose name is the LORD---
that you alone are the Most High over all the earth."
Psalm 83:18

Wednesday's Morning Glory

Happy New Year!! As this new year gets underway, I think about what the LORD would have us resolve to do. What are His instructions? He uses each and every one of us in His plan and for His glory. He will guide through each situation in our lives, if we ask Him to show us. What an awesome thing! But what are we to do with that? Are we to keep it to ourselves? NO! As I read Psalm 82:3-5, I couldn't help but make the connection with the Great Commission. Asaph refers to taking care of and defending those less fortunate, sharing with them because they walk in darkness. So, in making that correlation, and pondering what to say today, I came up with this. SHARE Him with others this year. It may mean stepping out of your comfort zone, but it may also mean being aware of how you live your life because people are always watching. You may not even know the example you are setting without saying a word. Ask Him to show you how to share Him with others, He will!
"Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless;
maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed.
Rescue the weak and needy;
deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
They know nothing, they understand nothing.
They walk about in darkness;
all the foundations of the earth are shaken."
Psalm 82:3-5

"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Matthew 28:18-20
